University of Alberta Scholarship Scholarship Details
The University of Alberta has struck agreements to co-sponsor graduate students and foster collaboration in a wide range of subjects.
Sponsored students are international students whose education has been fully supported by their home governments, enterprises, or third-party organizations.
Tuition, fees, and living expenses can all be covered with financial aid. The University of Alberta International (UAI) oversees all international graduate student scholarship arrangements.
Eligibility Requirements for University of Alberta Scholarship 2024 Scholarship
To be considered for the University of Alberta Scholarship: Master’s programs.
Normally, applicants must have completed a four-year baccalaureate degree, or its academic equivalent, from a University of Alberta-accredited institution.
Admission requires a grade point average of 3 on most 4-point grading systems or a B on most letter grading systems based on your most recent two years of full-time study (or equivalent).
Doctoral programs
Typically, applicants must have earned a master’s degree or its academic equivalent from a University of Alberta-accredited institution.

Benefits of the University of Alberta Scholarship 2024
For undergraduate programs.
These grants are open to new first-year students participating in undergraduate degree programs who hold a valid Student Visa Permit. The scholarships, worth up to $9,000, are spread over four years.
For Master’s programs
Master’s degree students will get a $17,500 stipend, with overseas candidates receiving an additional $10,000 to cover fees.
For Doctoral Programs
These $5,000 annual awards are meant to help PhD students finance their fees.

Required Documents for the University of Alberta
To apply, candidates must prepare to submit the following documents:

- Degree certificates
- English Language Proficiency scores such as IELTS, Pearson, TOEFL, etc. (if applicable)
- CV, statement of intent, and writing samples
- GRE, GMAT, Miller Analogies Test, or other test scores
- Reference letters (please provide the names and email addresses of your references in the online application)

Other Scholarships in Alberta
This year, students enrolled at Alberta colleges and universities can apply for the following scholarships and awards:
1. Academic Alexander Rutherford High School Achievement Scholarship
Over 13,000 scholarships are offered to recognize and reward academic performance in high school and encourage individuals to seek postsecondary education.
The award is valued at up to $2,500. Scholarships are provided to students who achieve a minimum average of 75.0 percent in five selected courses in at least one grade (Grade 10, 11, or 12).
The minimal average, award amount, and courses available are determined by the student’s high school graduation year.
Recipients must be enrolled in a full-time postsecondary program or be apprentice students.
2. Grant MacEwan United World College Scholarship
Eight scholarships are provided for two years of study at a United World College. These honors are given based on academic performance, leadership, community service, references, and an interview. Applicants must be in the process of completing grade eleven.

3. China-Alberta Award of Excellence in Chinese
One $500 award will be given to a student who has excelled in a high school Chinese language and culture program. Awarded based on academic achievement.

4. Tiessen Foundation Broadcast Scholarship
One $750 scholarship is available to Alberta high school graduates who want to pursue post-secondary studies at any recognized educational institution in Canada that provides a degree or diploma in broadcasting (TV, radio, or broadcast engineering). Awarded on the basis of academic excellence and a 750-word essay.

5. Anna and John Kolesar Memorial Scholarship
One $1,500 scholarship will be offered to the applicant who has the greatest average in three Grade 12 subjects. Applicants must intend to enroll in an education program and come from a family in which neither parent holds a university degree.

6. Keyera Energy – Peter J. Renton Memorial Scholarship
High school students who have completed the high school graduation requirements in Alberta can receive up to $6,000 ($3,000 for the first year and $3,000 for the second year).
Applicants must intend to study full-time in an eligible Alberta post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the oil and gas industry.

7. Maria Sava Polish Heritage Awards and Scholarships
To acknowledge the outstanding achievements of Edmonton Catholic Schools’ Jan Pawel II Polish Bilingual Program students.
Three scholarships and two $1,000 grants are offered to students who completed the Jan Pawel II Polish Bilingual subject in Grades 7, 8, and 9 and want to pursue post-secondary education in any subject of study.
Deadline: July 1
8. Dr. Robert Norman Shaw Scholarship
One $1,500 scholarship will be offered to a student graduating from Sexsmith Secondary School who plans to pursue post-secondary courses in a health-related sector.
Awarded for attaining the highest average in five Grade 12 (level 30) subjects: English or Français, Mathematics, Social Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Science.

9. Helen and George Kilik Scholarship
One $1,000 award is given to an Olds High School student who is in financial need, participates in extracurricular activities, and excels academically, particularly in mathematics and science. Applicants should be preparing to pursue full-time postsecondary education.
A committee from Olds High School selects the award.
