Eligibility Guidelines for UBC Undergraduate Scholarships
To qualify for UBC Undergraduate Scholarships, candidates must meet all of the standards listed below:
- Required Language: English is the major language of instruction at UBC. All prospective students must demonstrate a minimal level of English before they are admitted.
- Eligible countries include all countries in the world.
- Be a first-year student at UBC, having graduated from secondary school or post-secondary education.
- Be an international student studying at UBC with a Canadian study permit (student visa). (Changes in your citizenship status will impact your IMES eligibility.)
- Exhibit high academic accomplishment and intellectual promise, as well as significant extracurricular and community commitment.
- Not be considered for a need-and-merit-based International Scholars Award.
